Define your marketing objective

Before publishing a campaign, ask yourself first what you truly want to achieve for your business. Do you want to increase brand awareness or would you like to extend the reach of your campaigns to connect with more people? Having a clear objective allows you to set realistic goals for your business and makes it easier to monitor if your campaign is doing well.

Know your audience

After setting your objective, next in your action plan should be getting to know your audience. Facebook Business Manager has tools you can use and one of these is Audience Insights. It provides you with data on two main demographics — everyone on Facebook and people connected to your page.

This gives you a better understanding of the people who could be engaging with your page, allowing you to find your target audience and design your marketing strategies to cater to them.

Study your ad frequency

Once you have successfully launched specifically targeted campaigns, it is time to manage your ad frequency. Frequency refers to the number of impressions or likelihood that someone from your target audience has seen your ad.

But monitoring your ad frequency is not everything. You must study all aspects so you can make necessary adjustments whether it be increasing or reducing the frequency of your ad. The general rule is half the number of days in your date range, meaning an ad running for 10 days should have a frequency of no more than 5 days.

Manage your funds wisely

With Facebook advertising, it is easy to get lost in spending because it feels like your campaigns are doing well. But you have to manage your funds wisely so you can have more to spend later on. You do not want to be losing money on all these ads without taking into account if they are returning money to your business.
